Why do I write this article?
I recently turned 31, and on my birthdays, it always feels like the right time to reflect on my life and gain better clarity.
This time, I created three general and simple life principles that work for me, and I thought I’d share them with you, too.
Three Simple Life Principles That Work for Me
1. Life, like success, is a journey, not a destination. So enjoy the ride. The reward is not in what we get; it’s in what we become.
2. Consistency, like assiduity/persistency, is key to compounding, be it in relationships or wealth.
3. Luck matters, but its what we do that counts. Choose what we think and do wisely because our actions create our destiny.
A quote from one of my favourite actors
“Without commitment, you’ll never start. But more importantly, without consistency, you’ll never finish.” – Denzel Washington

About the writer
I have over 10 years of experience investing in stocks using value investing principles and am interested in teaching and developing meaningful relationships with CEOs and Executives to help them stop trading time for money.
In 2015, I founded Re-ThinkWealth.com, a value investing blog to educate the masses on value investing.
More importantly, I started VIM, a high-quality value investing community to mentor CEOs and Executives to start on their stock investment journey. I believe in the power of education and investing wisely in companies we understand in the stock market, as it can change lives.
I am also a Board Member of Bansea (Asia’s Oldest Angel Investment Network) and SPGG (Singapore Polytechnic Graduates Guild), where I chair the education segment. I am also an independent director in Bansea Fund 2.
I have also been invited to serve as a mentor or speaker at brokerage houses, institutions, and radio stations such as CGS-CIMB, the NTU Singapore Financial Conference, SMU IIE, NUS Invest, Seedly TV, and Money FM 89.3.
Contact me for a free discovery call if you are a CEO or Executive looking for a mentor to start on your value investing journey (capped at 150 mentees/students) at https://www.vim.sg/.
